Service and Facility Features:

  • 'Same day' or 'next day' MRI and CT appointments available
  • Next day radiological reports to physicians
  • MRI facilities... appointments from Monday to Saturday
  • CT facilities... appointments from Monday to Friday
  • 'OPEN' MRI for claustrophobic and heavier patients
  • On-site U.S. Board Certified Radiologists

The MRI Scan

MRI is an accurate and innovative technolgy for the diagnosis and medical examination of soft tissue disease and injury. MRI is able to detect injuries, abnormalities and growths that may be "invisible" to x-rays.

MRI Scanner

Benefits of MRI Scan:

  • MRI may eliminate the need for hospitalizations previously required for invasive diagnostic procedures. These invasive procedures carry risks for infections and other complications.
  • MRI is able to create images in multiple planes (3 dimensional) to clearly delineate the extent of injury or disease.
  • MRI is non-invasive and does not expose patients to ionizing radiation, as does x-ray and CT scans: this makes MRI a very low risk procedure.
  • MRI has reduced the use of arthroscopy (examination of the interior of a joint with an arthroscope) as it has the ability to visualize these areas and provide information on soft tissue.

MRI is the diagnostic imaging technique of choice for the detection of disease and abnormality in the following anatomic sites:

  • Brain/Head
  • Pelvis
  • Spine
  • Kidney
  • Liver
  • Soft Tissues
  • Pancreas
  • Bones
  • Prostate
  • Joints
  • Vascular Abnormalities

MRI Scan of the Brain/Head

You will be given CDs with the images to take with you and the results of the procedure will be faxed to your doctor the following business day.

Cardiac MRI Scan

  • A Cardiac MRI looks at the blood flow (function) and also at the CURRENT health of the heart muscle (morphology).
  • A Cardiac MRI is useful before undergoing an angiogram (i.e. Is the patient a good candidate to undergo Angioplasty?).
  • A Cardiac MRI looks at the coronary blood vessels for blockages. It does not detect plaque.

Weight-Bearing MRI of the Spine

  • More natural imaging of the spine
  • Enhanced visualization of disc pathology
  • Enhanced visualization of nerve root compression

Flexion/Extension Cervical Spine MRI

  • Visualize the spine in motion
  • Visualize abnormal motion and underlying ligamentous injury
  • Visualization of neural elements, soft tissue and bony structures during spinal movement

The CT Scan

Computed Tomography (CT) produces diagnostic images of your anatomy. Before your CT scan, our CT facility will provide you with instructions about preparation for your test.

For more information about the CT Scan, please visit www.radiologyinfo.org.

CT Scanner

CT scans are usually conducted on the following:

  • Head
  • Abdomen and Pelvis
  • Chest
  • Spine
CT Scan of the Chest
CT Scan of the Head & Spine

You will be given CDs with the images to take with you and the results of the procedure will be faxed to your doctor the following business day.

Cardiac CT Scan

  • Cardiac CT scan looks for plaque in the coronary arteries and can advise of future problems.
